Here are 3 things that you have done so wrongly that you got punished by google

Number 1 : domain names
Back in the days, using keywords in domain names was very, VERY popular. People would abuse it, putting in full keywords like "Perfectdoggrooming" or "SpecialtyPlumber". I get it. It helps to rank in searches. That is until google brought in the ban hammer and they did a blanket flag on all those websites. They didn't just make the websites unrank-able. They made it unsearchable in the search engine. The only way you could access those sites is when you directly input it in your search bar. Till this day, this policy is still in effect. The way around it? Plan your domain names properly and make sure that it is your actual service that you provide

Number 2 : Keywords.
As many of you know keywords are important. Keywords helps in increasing your ranking in google, increases search rate by consumers and in turn, increases your engagement rate and possibly your conversion rate. But did you know, keywords is a double edged sword? Google actually punishes for the abuse of keywords. One good indicator to know if you have been marked by google for keywords is by taking into account the ratio of high trending searches by users to the number of those same keywords used in your website. Anything past the 50% line is considered unsafe.

Number 3 : Back Links

Gist of back linking. One public website shares a post or a page from your website and clicking the post or page from their website links it back to yours. This increases engagement rate and google thinks that your website is a good website. Here comes the issue. Backlinking only works if your website isn't backlinked by a website flagged out by google. A best example would be that let's say XYZ.com is a website marked by google to be a scam or compromised website. If it has your backlink, google will catch on to it and give it a warning or sort. Multiply that number of backlinks by maybe...10, and brother eye up there will mark that page or post that is being backlinked a spam. Increase the number to let's say 100 and that could spell the end of your website. There are many ways around it and one of it is to use something like Ahref or Majestic. The easiest way is to disavow backlinks but this is a double edged sword so, i wouldn't recommend it.

That's it for the 3 minute read. I shall see you around next. Ciaos
